The "Enarxis" Malagouzia is incredibly tasty and cool with strong aromas both in the nose and in the mouth. It successfully expresses the dynamics of the "star" variety of the Greek Vineyard but also its adaptation to the terroir of the region!

Vineyard/Location: Nea Raidestos. Owned, Linear, and Grown organically without irrigation with sandy loam soils and good drainage.
Variety composition: 100% Malagouzia
Winemaking: Pre-fermentation cryo-extraction, Controlled alcoholic fermentation, Aging on lees.
Characteristics: Alcohol 13.8% vol – Sugars: 2.9 gr/lit – Total acidity: 5.6 gr/lit in tartaric acid – pH: 3.31.
Winemaker's Note
It stands out for its bright appearance and lemon-green color.
Explosively aromatic with aromas of fruits (peach, apricot, pear, grapefruit, pineapple, mango, lime, lemon), white flowers (jasmine & chamomile), and herbs (spearmint & mint).
The taste of the wine is delicious with a crisp acidity that gives it a freshness and cool feeling. A balanced Malagouzia with a rich & full body and a gently spicy aftertaste that makes it pleasant & exciting.
Serving recommendations: Best served at 8°-10°C in a tulip-shaped glass for white aromatic wines.
Food pairing
It ideally accompanies the 'Enarxis' (beginning) of a meal such as cool green salads with citrus dressing.
Enjoy it with risotto or seafood pasta. It combines harmoniously with Asian & Mediterranean cuisine, with grilled fish, chicken, and pork breaded or grilled, with light white sauces. Ideal to accompany the traditional appetizers of Greek cuisine such as stuffed vine leaves "dolmadakia", vegetable pies, and cheese pies. The perfect summer aperitif can harmoniously end a meal by accompanying yellow cheeses and fruits.
Aging recommendations: It is recommended the bottles to be stored in a shady place, in a sideways position, and at a temperature of 14°C – 16°C.

Our Story
Thomas Kontopos, oenologist & winemaking consultant, after 30 years of involvement in the world of wine created with his wife Katerina Didaskalou, biologist-brewer, a Winery - Wine Cellar, in Nea Raidesto, Thessaloniki.

Thomas's First Steps
Thomas is leaving Evangelos Tsantalis S.A. and starting consulting as a production oenologist initially at the Protopapa Estate, in Kariani Kavala, and then at the Michalaki Estate, in Heraklion, Crete.

Katerina's First Steps
Biologist Katerina specializes in her knowledge on wine at I. Boutaris & Sons Winery SA, at its central winery in Stenimacho, Naoussa.
- 1993
The evolution
Thomas takes over as head of the winery & head of winemaking at Evangelos Tsantalis S.A., while Katerina jumps over and takes over until now the head of the Mythos brewery, which then belonged to the BOUTARI group and today to Olympic Brewery S.A.

New Professional Ventures
Thomas is leaving Evangelos Tsantalis S.A. and starts consulting as a production oenologist initially at the Protopapa Estate, in Kariani Kavala and then at the Michalaki Estate, in Heraklion, Crete. At the same time, he is also involved in education, transferring his experience and his love for wine, to the students of public and private I.E.K., until 2020.

New start
He takes over from the "foundations" as the responsible oenologist of production at the Estate of Klaudia Papagiannis, in Arnea Halkidiki.

Wine Therapy Foundation
Wine Therapy is created and at the same time, the first experimental vineyard with Greek varieties is planted.

Wine Therapy/ Vineyards
The main vineyard of Wine Therapy is planted with MALAGOUZIA and our collaboration with the Limited Liability Social Cooperative - Mental Health Sector of Eastern Thessaloniki & Halkidiki, IRIS, begins, in the production of wines from the organic vineyard of the cooperative, in Portaria, Halkidiki.

The year in which the new generation of the Kontopos family begins its involvement with Wine Therapy.
Vassiliki-Irini, Production & Management Engineer, a graduate of WSET Level 2, and Ioanna the Oenologist. With an absolute emphasis on high quality, this collaboration marries experience with a fresh pioneering eye and creates wines of limited production, labeled Wine Therapy.
