A traditional dessert, deeply appreciated throughout Greece, that leaves its sweet smell and flavor in every Greek house (mostly) during Christmas holidays. We, the Chrisanthidis family, as the heirs of this traditional recipe, have managed to keep this unique, beloved flavor alive and promote it throughout the world, using only the purest Greek ingredients, no preservatives, and handmade production methods.
A family business... A family story that dates back to 1980...
...when the Chrisanthidis family opened their first family workshop-store in Nea Karvali, Kavala, where they made their famous kourabie with the traditional flavor of a home recipe. Year by year, the family and their first partners experimented, and finally created a wide range of premium quality products, comparable to the best pastry shops at the time. Meanwhile, the number of their customers and the reputation of their products started to take off. As a result, in a very short time, the company was developed into a modern, dynamic bakery and pastry production site.
Today, the company is located on a 5,000 sq.m. site, featuring cutting-edge technology and highly trained staff.
All ingredients are certified and always chosen for their fine quality, receiving the assurance of constant food safety inspections under the FSSC 22000 certification.
While at the same time, the company always invests in upgrading production lines, improving procedures and selecting the most appropriate packaging materials.
The above strictly followed procedures, together with traditional recipes passed down from generation to generation, and are the foundations of the integrated, consistent efforts of Vikelidis-Chrisanthidis SA to offer pure, quality bakery and pastry products.
Vikelidis-Chrisanthidis SA ranks among the prestigious group of IFS Food 6.1 certification holders, a top certification focusing on food safety and the quality of processes and products, with annual inspections.
The company, also, assures its production procedures and products by applying the ISO 22000:2005 (HACCP) certified integrated food safety management system. Later, that system was upgraded to the more demanding and stricter FSSC 22000 system, equivalent to BRC & IFS systems.
In addition, over the past years we have been HALAL certified, by meeting all requirements of the Islam laws and regulations.
Our scientific staff that inspects all production and quality systems comprises of two food technologists. Our goal is to constantly improve in terms of quality and continue implementing new trends/quality standards in accordance with new laws and regulations, and in line with new trends in the world pastry – bakery industry.
